Although not exclusively for veterans and military personnel, the DOD's Directive 8570 and 8140 cerfication requirements for cybersecurity workers are useful guidelines and certification goals for veterans.
The DoD 8140 model is a direct replacement for DoD 8570, and is based on the National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) standard. This model defines skill categories as well as job titles clearly.
